Why Participate?

Since opening our doors in 2000, more than 1,500 children have experienced the magic of Fiver. Justin is an alumnus who completed his ten-year Fiver journey in 2018. This is an excerpt from his graduation speech.

“I believe all my life that I’ve been misunderstood. Growing up I was called annoying, rambunctious, and impulsive. Fiver started to change me. We learned how to make fun without technology and to cherish nature. I learned it is ok to be me…I had the strength to realize my own flaws and become a better person and that’s why I am forever grateful to Fiver.”

Becoming a Fiver is about being open to growth and change. We have built a supportive community and culture where young people can take healthy risks, find their purpose and address their weaknesses. In a space devoid of judgment and filled with affirmation and kindness, Fivers like Justin develop an authentic sense of self. With confidence and direction, they are ready to make an impact on the world. With your support, we can continue this important work, making more transformational journeys with Fiver possible.
